Welcome to the
Wildwood Soup Kitchen Website

The Wildwood Soup Kitchen is staffed by caring and loving volunteers inspired by the Gospel mandate to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, and welcome the stranger. We are a true ecumenical ministry with approximately 150 volunteers from nearly 30 churches in the Wildwood area.

The Wildwood Soup Kitchen serves the poor, the hungry, and the lonely by providing healthy, nutritious and appetizing meals to all who come to us. We also deliver meals to shut-ins and others who are unable to come to the Soup Kitchen. Every person who comes to us for assistance is welcomed, without regard to race, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, handicap, or income.

The Wildwood Soup Kitchen is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  To arrange for home delivery of meals (Mon - Fri) to someone living in the Wildwood area who is sick, disabled or homebound, call Don Lozier at (352) 751-5144 (or cell: 352-217-3707).

New Volunteers

We're always looking for new volunteers to help out with particular tasks; for example:

Drivers. Deliver meals to shut-ins; provide your own vehicle; one day each week for about 2-3 hours. Training provided.

Cleaners. Vacuum and clean up at the conclusion of the daily meal; one day each week for about 1 hour.

Bakers. Willing to bake desserts for the daily meal (e.g., cakes, cupcakes, pies, etc.); one day each week; deliver baked items to Soup Kitchen.

Kitchen Help. We always need substitutes willing to come in on relatively short notice. And we occasionally need replacements for those who can no longer volunteer due to any number of reasons.

If you would like to volunteer, click here to send us an email. Include your name, address, telephone number, the day(s) you can volunteer, and the type of volunteer work you  prefer.
